Zoning Board of Adjustment

The Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) is an independent, quasi-judicial body. It is empowered to grant relief from the strict application of the Zoning Regulations (variances), approve certain uses of land (special exceptions), and hear appeals of actions taken by the Planning Board. Members are appointed by the Board of Selectmen.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) was established to offer citizens an independent opportunity to review situations in which strict interpretation of town ordinances or codes would be inappropriate or cause undue hardship.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment meets on the 3rd Monday of select months in the Town Hall at 7:00pm. Minutes of the meetings are available for public viewing in the office or online.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment Clerk is available Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am-3:30pm at Town Hall.
