BEACH ATTENDANT - SEASONAL PART TIME JOB OPENING
The Town of Barnstead is seeking qualified applicants to fill a seasonal position as a Beach Attendant at our town beach. Average shifts are 3-5 hours with flexibility on days scheduled. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid drivers’ license and successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check.
Job Summary - Monitor the daily activities of the town beach, enforce rules and regulations, report problems and illegal activity, help keep the beach, trail and parking area clean. Maintain a friendly and courteous relationship with patrons and other employees. The Beach Attendant is not a lifeguard, it may be necessary to remind parents/guardians of their responsibility to watch their children in the water.

TOWN OF BARNSTEAD - FULLTIME POSITIONS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
 
The Barnstead Highway Department has 2 positions for fulltime year-round truck driver/ equipment operator. A valid drivers license, CDL-B upon hire or within 6 months, and criminal records check required. Skill in the operation and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks, heavy equipment and prior snow-plowing experience preferred. Excavator or Grader experience a plus. Applicants must be flexible during winter months, able to work nights and weekends as needed and must live within a reasonable travel distance of the Barnstead Highway Garage. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and physical required. Subject to periodic random drug and alcohol screening. This position offers a complete benefit package and a competitive wage (commensurate with experience). Professional training opportunities including assistance in obtaining a CDL-B license are available for those wishing to have a career with the Barnstead Highway Department. TOWN OF BARNSTEAD PUBLIC WORKS MANAGER
The Town of Barnstead is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Works Manager. This position has flexibility in the work schedule. The Public Works Manager oversees departmental operations and provides management and oversight of the Highway Department employees and equipment. Works with the Highway Foreman to prepare and implement a long-term plan for the construction, reconstruction, maintenance, and snow removal of the Town’s roads. Works with the Town Administrator on financial and capital planning and budgeting. A minimum of seven years supervisory and management level experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field desirable. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered qualifying.  TOWN OF BARNSTEAD HIGHWAY FOREMAN

The Town of Barnstead NH has an opening for a fulltime Highway Department Foreman. This position reports to and works under the leadership of the Public Works Manager. In the absence of the Public Works Manager, the Foreman reports to the Town Administrator. Duties: Assists Public Works Manager to organize work loads, to coordinate daily assignments and serve as lead worker. Supervises employees in the Public Works Manager absence. Requirements: Must possess strong leadership abilities; at least 3 years progressively responsible experience in year-round municipal public works or related construction operations. Has the necessary skills, training and a CDL-B commercial license to operate all department equipment including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, excavators, grader and the basic tools used in this department. Able to assess, direct and perform necessary maintenance on all equipment, vehicles and light machinery including the tools to carry out all maintenance needs for the department. Experience in snowplowing, salting, maintenance of paved roads, dirt roads, ditching, and culverts. Understands written and oral instructions. Operates vehicles in such a manner as to maintain the mechanical and structural integrity of assigned vehicles and in compliance with all laws, ordinances, policies and procedure at all times.
