Notice: COVID 19 Pandemic

Barnstead NH Community Cooperation Needed

Health officials are still learning about this virus each day. Here's the basics of what we know so far:

The virus appears to be spreading easily and sustainably in communities, referred to as "community spread"

How Transmission Occurs:
  • Person to person. Respiratory droplets expelled when an infected person sneezes or coughs in close contact with another.
  • Coming into contact with surfaces that infected persons have handled, then touching your face or mouth.
Best Practices for Prevention and Containment:
  • Hand washing with soap for at least 30 seconds.
  • Sanitizing surfaces frequently used such as door knobs, handles, railings, phones.
  • Social distancing. Avoid gatherings whenever possible. When in contact with others refrain from hand shaking, lose contact, try to keep a distance of 6' at all times.
  • Coughing and sneezing into your arm away from others and / or surfaces as much as possible. If you cough or sneeze onto a surface disinfect it if possible.
Most Common Symptoms:
  • Fever
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath / pressure in the chest

Important: If you develop these symptoms or feel you have come into contact with Covid 19 It is important that you stay home, avoid public areas, avoid public transportation, limit contact with others as much as possible. Immediately call your healthcare provider for medical advice.

In an effort to keep our hospitals from being overwhelmed and available to those most adversely affected we must come together as a community to slow the spread of this virus.
