5-16-09 Barnstead Parks and Rec. Committee Meeting

Members Present:  Hollie Kelley, Dan Chase, Rick Simoneau and Peg Simoneau

TRACK MEET 5-30-09

We still need to purchase a canopy for this event.  We discussed sizes and prices being looked at.

We need 7 more volunteers.  Signs are to be put up at the school.  We'll wait to see what response we get from the newspaper.  We will also send the

info out on our database.  A volunteer form will be filled out by each volunteer.

We discussed what equipment we needed for the event.  Hollie made a list.  We discussed using Everett's for whatever supplies we could and then get the rest at Walmart.

Discussed storage and set up of equipment.  Costs not to exceed $1000.  We discussed set up of concession stand, volunteers and supplies.

Our standard registration form will be used.

Discussion of how event will be set up and run.

SOCCER PROGRAM

Parks and Rec to take over 5th and 6th grade teams.  There will be possibly 2 teams for each.  (Boys and Girls).  We will need coaches before the schedule meeting.  We are 

still waiting to hear if there will be a separate New Durham league.  We will have to pay the referees.

We discussed that we still need to get goals and sizes of goals.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Rick brought up concerns about conflict of interest and is looking to set up a meeting with the Selectmen.

Next Meeting, Wednesday May 27th, after field hockey at Parks and Recs Building to store supplies for track meet.  We will try to have volunteers there and stop

watches to practice how things will run.
