Barnstead Municipal Building Committee Meeting Minutes Barnstead Municipal Building Committee Meeting 7 February 2007 Meeting was called to order by Chairman Bill Haynes at 1900 hrs. Members in attendance were: Mark Fraser Bill Haynes Tom Wittenburg Karen Schacht Frank Sullivan Doug Darrell Mark Fraser presented the committee the modified plan including changes as outlined in the last meeting. Doug Darrell indicated that he believed it would be best to illustrate the makeup of the outside areas of the building in the drawing presented to the Town. During the meeting, the town clerk Cindy Treadwell stopped in. She was shown the proposed drawing and asked her opinion. Cindy said the building appeared to meet their present and future needs. The committee discussed not locating a basement area under the combined meeting room and lobby areas. Karen Schacht presented a proposed site plan. It was reviewed by the committee and compared to the plan New Hampshire plan. The rooflines of the project were discussed and the possibility that the drive through sally port requirements may have to be re-evaluated. After further discussion, the committee decided that the selectman’s office area should be moved to the basement area. This would allow the footprint to be reduced to approximately 7975 square feet. The resulting cost of the building would be estimated at 1.8 million dollars using a multiplier of $230.00 per square foot to build. The $230.00 figure was derived from an ongoing construction project in another town. The committee also discussed the best method to use to have the building constructed while simultaneously allowing the Town to have input during its construction. The committee agreed that the Construction Management method would be the ideal method to utilize should the town approve the recommendations. The meeting was closed at 2015 hrs.
